We really are lucky as a town to have a huge amount of incredible Yoga and Wellness practitioners, a handful of which run some of their classes from Verve, the brand new Wellness Studio at Bedford Heights.
Although we are sad to have had to close the studio temporarily due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak, we have sat back in admiration of all the fantastic practitioners that have taken the time to create bespoke online classes, videos and workshops in their homes. This means that you can continue to practice how you usually would, but in the comfort of your own home.
With so much uncertainty and worry surrounding us right now, there’s never been a better time to try out that class you’ve always been meaning to get to. It’s also really important to remember that during this difficult time, we need to look after our mental health and wellbeing more than ever.
So, whilst we wait for our studio doors to re-open and welcome you back, we thought we’d round up all of the online classes we’ve seen so far for you to try at your leisure:
Lauren Aimee Yoga & Dance There’s something for every day of the week with Lauren and to suit all abilities. Lauren’s timetable includes a Chair-Based Yoga class that is perfect for anyone sitting at a desk all day or for those that are less mobile.
If you’re looking for a moment of mid-week calm, why not join the mediation class on a Wednesday evening. While Lauren has made these available for free on her page, a donation would be greatly appreciated if you do take the class.
Julia K Yoga has 10 varied classes available online each week including a re-creation of the usual Monday class that she runs. Students have the opportunity to join a class as a one off and Julia is offering unlimited monthly classes.
Peacethruyoga is a variety of yoga styles to suit every person, from pregnancy to beginners to more advanced flow. Rosanna has created a varied online timetable for the week with the opportunity to join on to some specific small group workshops.
Medulla Holistic Therapies is the home of peace and healing through Reiki and reflexology by Anne Green. Anne has launched Distance Reiki treatments and has re-launched her Meditation Circle which will take place on Mondays at 12 noon and Thursdays at 7.30pm online. Have you thought about creating a calm space in your home for fitness, yoga or meditation? It could be a cosy corner in your living room, or a space next to your bed for when you wake in the morning. Fill a basket with your fitness accessories, yoga mat, blanket and candles. By having these items accessible and on show in your home, it becomes a subtle reminder and makes it easier for you to start exercising or practicing yoga when you feel like it.
